All over the country people of Iran are anticipating this day with great anxiety. Hearts are pounding. Courageous men and women are mapping out a plan of action to turn that day to a day that determines the outcome of (a different) future, our destiny. The enemy, too, is planning to stay in the battlefield not to lose its fragile balance.
“Down with the Islamic Republic regime!” will arise from people’s hearts and will be taken into the hearts of (millions). Let that day be the day that the development of the horizon of the goals and demands of the struggle -especially the struggle of young men and women – leaps forward parallel with determination to materialize those demands. Let that day be the day that those at the bottom of society, workers and those who live in poor neighborhoods-shantytowns merge with the wave upon waves of struggle and resistance of other layers and strata of masses of people.
The anti regime movement of last 8 months has had a significant impact in the Middle East and other parts of the world. The street fighting of young men and women against the mercenaries of the Islamic Republic has been inspirational for them, too. They, too, have sewn their eyes to these developments. Western imperialist powers, Russia and China who are not less reactionary than the IRI, also are paying a lot of attention to this day and calculating their own benefits of the aftermath of the 22 of Bahman in M.E. and Iran with tremendous anxiety.
This 22 of Bahman comes at the peak of the Ashura demonstration that was a turning point in the people’s struggle breaking out of the green imposed walls of Mosavi and Karobi et all, and with Death to Leader –Khameneie, they broke the historic religious dominance of Ashura. These demonstrations struck a killing blow to the whole Islamic Fundamentalist leadership that have been established since 1979, and declared the end of that era.
That event scared the shit out of not only the “leader” and his cohorts but also Mosavi and Karobi who condemned participants of (the Ashura event) “destroying the foundation” and made these (so called leaders) once more to declare their vow of loyalty to the Islamic Republic of Iran. They even went so far to acknowledge the legitimacy of Ahmadinajad’s presidency and started new rounds of talks as a bridge to get THEM ALL out of these crises. But you cannot wipe up spilt milk- you cannot get the genie back in to the bottle. You cannot drag back to the –peace- negotiation table masses of the people that have come to understand the irreconcilable relations between themselves and the Islamic Republic.
The leading clique has no other choice but unleashing the vicious terror on people to stay in the game. But the situation is a kind that they do not have the freedom to utilize all the killing powers they got. The tempo of the situation is a kind that more oppression breeds even more resistance and creates more wavering amongst its base.
The reformist leaders in no way want the overthrow of their own system. This forces them to compromise with the rulling clique in order to get out of this crisis. But on the other hand, they understand the process they are in and are forced here too to adjust their position in order to save their own doomsday.
After Ashura many European countries that had continuous political and economic relationship with the regime for the last 31 years, started to change their foreign relationships because they, too see that this regime is about to go down.
These centers of power are fighting amongst themselves in calculation of what more they can they gain out of these circumstances and what the future outcome will be. But more important for these foreign powers is that they all are aware that any changes in Iran would have far-reaching consequences for the people of the Middle East and beyond.
They do not want to see capitalism threatened and the changes would not go beyond toppling the religious dictatorship as the US wishes. They do not want to see the people taking their own destiny into their own hands. This has made their calculations even more difficult, given the complexity of the Middle East today.
The western powers and especially US, want to weaken and undermine Islamic fundamentalism in the region. But on the other hand, they do not want to see the “ultra demands” of the masses; taking the destiny in their own hands, be fulfilled. They do not want to see anything beyond the collapse of religious reign, let alone the shattering of the system of capitalist exploitation and oppression that could pave the way for a new and a real revolutionary model for the people’s of the world.
All these complicated contradictions have heightened the stakes of the political situation and necessitated the strengthening of the revolutionary communist leadership and it’s effective presence in the scene.
This situation has put many enormous and heightened responsibilities on our shoulders. These kinds of responsibilities are not possible to fulfill, without strengthening our party with those forces that have come to understand that without communist leadership, this revolution will be defeated once more.
Overthrowing the Islamic republic is objectively the order of the day, but a huge problem is yet to be solved. The big question for us is to get many fighters, of the past and the new generations involve finding the answer for –what is to be done? - In order to not repeat the catastrophic result of people’s struggle of 31 years ago? 31 years ago millions of workers, intellectuals, peasants, and different nationalities (Kurds, Turkamans, Azaries, Arabs, Baluchies…) strata, classes participated in overthrowing despotic monarchy, but the Islamic Fundamentalist usurped the leadership and with the assistance of the world imperialism headed by US, the Islamic Republic came to power and prevented the possibilities of radical-communist forces to seize the time. Thus the revolution was defeated (in it’s inception). Religious despotism by the capitalist, landlord classes replaced the Monarchy dictatorship of those same classes. The possibility for the repeat of the same tragedy still exists. To prevent such historic tragedies as: Constitutional Revolution, the 1328 (1953) coup, and coming to power of IRI, requires the development of a communist pole in the people’s movement.
A pole with a clear plan for the future society (with specific understanding –consideration- towards what class, economics, and social content of that future state is), a communist leadership that is not just a remnant of the past communist movement but a vanguard of the future that joins with people’s struggle and paves the way to put in practice the strategy of violent overthrow of oppressing classes.
The 22 of Bahman of 1388-2010 should be an opening salvo of a kind of revolution that can answer clearly and with substance the three basic-fundamental-questions:
What do we want? How do we get it? What kind of leadership?
To develop such a pole the people’s struggle must be carried out with more consciousness and perseverance. On the one hand, our political, social and economic demands should be guidelines to and contribute to the overthrow of the IRI, and at the same time be a reflection of the future society, a qualitatively different society than this.
The methods of our struggle must embody and reflect the nature of the class antagonism and our sense of seriousness.
The reformist clique and their intellectual supporters are cautioning the youth away from implementing any thing but “non-violence’ – they are preaching against the “harms” of any armed struggle.
But this deceitful bunch are well aware that what secures and keeps intact this Islamic Republic regime, are forces armed to the teeth and their vicious security forces, while themselves too, enjoy the backing of some forces within Sepah (Guards), army and secret services.
These reformists, like those within the government, view the right to use arms only of theirs, just as legitimacy to hold “political power”. Even though the real interests of the majority of people can be fulfill when the state power is in the hand of the most oppressed people -as a mainstay of revolution - under the leadership of a communist force with a liberating program.
It is through this state power that you can build a new society that runs by and serves the interest of the majority of people.
To seize political power “peacefully” from the hands of those who have the control over the armed forces - and enjoy the vital economic benefits from that- is impossible. It is only through waging revolutionary war that you can defeat the armed forces of the enemy and seize people’s political power. To initiate a revolutionary war there must be a political preparation that mobilizes advanced people to see the need for and organize their forces in that direction.
Turning the scattered street fights to organized and planned struggles are important steps towards that preparation. Breaking down doors of Evin dungeon (infamous prison), punishment of mercenaries in the streets, working and living environments and materializing crucial demands like “freeing political prisoners”, “abolishing forced Hijab” are parts of the preparation to overthrow the regime.
In the process of these struggles people can learn how to face the reactionary and unjust violence of the state with a just violence of people and learn how not to submit any longer to oppression and humiliation and through that taste and feel what a meaningful life and struggle is really all about.
This regime is going to be gotten rid of, but it will not back off to the last seconds. Thus we must prepare ourselves to meet the bloodshed by these criminals. To be prepared means that people (especially young men and women) must be ready to defend their freedom with tooth and nails. We should not allow the mercenaries of the regime to attack people freely. We should not allow these mercenaries to kidnap our youngsters from their houses or the university dorms in the break of down and condemn them to death in their medieval dungeons. We should not allow them to hang our youths in the public nor any hidden places. We should not allow them stoning women no more. We should not allow their informants; their ears and eyes (information, bassiji and snitch agents) dictate their way where we live and where we work.
In other words we have to earn our freedom and what belongs to us, with our own hands, either with guns or fists.
The process of the collapse of this regime has begun. The 22 of Bahman of 79 was the beginning of their horrifying regime. Let the 22 of Bahaman of 2010 be the beginning of an end (the death) of this regime.
Lets feel the air with “Down With Islamic Republic!” all over Iran. We have to find ways to unleash working -men and women- from factories, poor neighborhoods and cities to join in struggles and manifestations to enforce the waves of resistance. Let our young communists with their bright red flags be the harbingers of a new future, a new political, economical and societal system that holds high the banner of emancipation of the whole humanity.
We should find ways to have our students from schools and universities to explain and convince people why we can not leave the drawing-painting of the future horizons to green leaders who will re-strengthen this criminal Islamic Republic once again, with lies and decides as they did 31 years ago.
The killing machine of prison, torture, and execution of Islamic Republic have been clunking for 31 years nonstop: against communists, freedom fighters, protesting workers, the frustrated youth- from lack of work and future- and women who dared to not accept the chains of slavery.
But finally the little streams of anger, frustration and hatred against all these oppression and suppression are coming to become a roaring torrent that can bury the Islamic Republic forever.
